Released of All-Star shoe was canceled by Nike this morning, Nike shoe riot near Orlando’s Florida Mall last Thursday night while waiting for the release of All-Star shoe limited-edition Nike Galaxy Foamposite, on the celebration of 2012 NBA All-Star.
According to reports of several international news sites, the Nike shoe riot happens while the mob buyers was asked to wait across the street when the mall closed at 9:00pm Thursday night, but one customer surge madly toward the Foot Locker and hundreds followed to get the All-Star limited-edition Nike Foamposite Galaxy where the shoes were to go on sale.
Thousands of shoppers became out of control, prompting deputies in riot gear to disperse the crowd. Two men were arrested for trespassing and a woman who was waiting in line to get into Foot Locker was arrested this morning for fighting and resisting deputies.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office released a statement from Nike regarding the Nike shoe riot that holds the released of Nike Foamposite Galaxy shoes, said it is canceling the sale at other Florida locations and elsewhere, including Pembroke Lakes Mall in South Florida; University Mall in Tampa; Southlake Mall in Morrow, Ga.; and Prince Georges Plaza in Hyattsville, MD.
“Our priority is the safety of the community,” Nike said in a statement.
Meanwhile, no other scheduling changes were expected at Florida Mall for previously planned NBA All-Star 2012 related events aside from delaying the release of the All-Star Shoe $220 Nike Galaxy Air Foamposite.
