The 54th Annual Grammy Awards winning artist Jennifer Hudson give tribute to six-time Grammy winner Whitney Houston on Sunday, February 12, 2012, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
According to several entertainment news sites, Hudson performed a heart-warming own version of “I will Always Love You”. Since, it was a last minute change on the program for the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, and while the world remains shock at the untimely death of very talented Whitney Houston, the producers of the celebration announced early by Grammys’ official Twitter account to inform the public of their plan.
“We will do something appropriate tomorrow. Nothing more appropriate than Jennifer Hudson sing on our stage in remembrance of Whitney Houston” – Neil Portnow President/CEO The Recording Academy.
“I Will Always Love You,” was originally written by fellow Grammy winner Dolly Parton, the song achieved two awards at the 36th Annual Grammy Awards in 1993, including “Record of the Year.”
Houston died about 24-hours away from the 54th Annual Grammy Awards; she was remembered throughout the telecast by fellow artist including Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt.
