Ancestry.com domain sold for $1.6 billion

Domain name Ancestry.com was sold for $1.6 billion in cash worth of shares($32.00/share) to a European private equity group Permina. Permina announced the take over the popular Nasdaq-listed “ACOM” family tree website Ancestry.com, according to reports of several business website on Monday, October 22, 2012.

Report says, Ancestry’s CEO Tim Sullivan and CFO Howard Hochhauser will still maintain the majority of their equity stakes in the company, while Permina coup are spectrum equity.
